about me

I grew up in Stoke-on-Trent a town bursting with ceramic industry, a place they call the creative county. I often wonder what
influence this has had on me and my work.
My enthusiasm for clay really started from a young age, I always enjoyed how meanable the material was especially
compared to other mediums. It was at college that my interest of mould making began and I developed an interest in function,
how things work, and how they are made particularly items that are used in the home.
During most of my education I worked in an antique centre painting botanical pictures on the antiques this has greatly
added to my interest of botanical patterns and my love of old things. I really admire the beauty of old things and the history that
they hold. I enjoy looking at how they have been made.
I am very interested in how certain aspects of the past are always visible today in everything.
It was at university that I started experimenting with recycled goods and I loved the spontaneity that they create.
I want to inspire the viewer of my work and give them something special to enjoy.
